Darker forces look towards the once peaceful Orozan, seeking power and control over those who dwell there.

Four evil sorcerers have descended on the land, each of them bent on seizing the realm for themselves... Welcome to Orozan; come for the glory, stay for the mayhem. Few are willing to take hold of an army. Even fewer will emerge with rule!

Matched with sorcerers of equal malice, only one question remains: will you emerge victorious in this battle of might and magic, or will your fortress be brought to ruins by the onslaught of your adversaries?

THE FLOW OF BATTLE

Draw a card and place it face-down in the center grid. Play a card from your hand and also place it face-down down in the grid.

The grid grows larger as the turns go by...

If 2 ambush cards find their way to the grid, it’s pandemonium as players reach to grab the face-down cards!

The only way to get new cards is to remember which one is which in the grid and grab them.

STRATEGIZING YOUR COMBATANTS

The fast-paced nature of Ambush means you can
never hold on to a card for too long...

Use your memory and reflexes to take advantage of
the face-down cards in the center and rapidly form
micro-strategies in your hand.

DID YOU KNOW...

Ambush was originally inspired by the opening scene in the film Saving Private Ryan, and was a WW2 themed game.

Once the switch to a fantasy theme was made, Ambush was first named Castle Rush.

There was a 4th member on Ambush's team, Tongwei Dai, who left after the class project was submitted to focus on other studies.

Ambush was based on an emotion-game project that was designed to make players feel overwhelmed and anxious through a game mechanic. For the class' final project, our team wanted to take that central mechanic, the hectic and exciting 'Ambush!' phase, and expand it into a deeper and more complex system. We added a fun medieval theme and art style, a variety of characters and card effects, and even drafted up some small bits of lore to bring Ambush to life.
